  1. Personal data and data protection

    The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 sets out the principles followed by Unicars Limited (“Unicars”) in the processing of your personal data, and applies in relation to all services offered by Unicars.


    Α. The purposes for which Unicars collects, processes and maintains your personal data relate to our activities in connection with the provision and promotion of our products and services to you and include, but are not limited to:


    i. Execution and compliance with our contractual and legal obligations in relation to the offer of price for the purchase of vehicle, spare parts and other related products and services, vehicle maintenance and repair services, the order and contract for the purchase of vehicle, spare parts and other related products and services, vehicle maintenance and repair services, their pricing, the provision of a guarantee in relation to your vehicle and the registration of the vehicle in the Road Transport Department.


    ii. The provision of information and information material in relation to your vehicle, maintenance and spare parts issues, vehicle inspection reminders, maintenance campaigns or vehicle recall based on the manufacturer's instructions or other competent authorities to comply with our legal obligations as well as safeguarding our legal interests in relation to the provision of our services to you including your correct and timely information on safety issues and control of proper use and maintenance of your vehicle.


    iii. Carrying out surveys and statistical analysis including, among others, the Customer Satisfaction Survey in relation to the acquisition of a vehicle as well as in relation to its maintenance services, based on our legal interests and our contractual obligations to the manufacturers of our products to maintain and improve quality and a high level of service with a view to protecting your personal data.


    iv. Marketing activities of our products and services such as invitations to events, offers, advertisements and market research based on your expressed consent.


    In relation to the above, our communication with you can be done accordingly by mail, e-mail, telephone, text message and instant message.


    Β. The personal data contained in our files are given voluntarily upon your contact with us directly by you or at your request and may include, but are not limited to:


    i. your name, ID or passport number and contact details such as address, telephone and email address


    ii. in case of purchase of services and / or vehicle, the vehicle registration certificate, vehicle data and technical data, vehicle insurance coverage and any loan or rental purchase documents


    iii. information regarding your previous transactions with us


    C. Our records will be updated periodically by the same method as they were collected.


    D. Your personal data is stored in our files in printed and electronic form and is stored on our premises or at external storage spaces and our staff has access to it from our facilities throughout Cyprus. We have security measures in place to ensure the confidentiality of data and these security measures are subject to constant review and upgrading.


    Ε. Your personal data may be transmitted by Unicars to entities controlled or affiliated with Unicars for the purposes of providing and promoting its products and services and on the basis set above. These entities are contractually bound by data processing agreements that contain strict confidentiality and restriction clauses in the processing of this data.


    F. Unicars will retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes and on the basis set forth above including the need for us to comply with our contractual and legal obligations.


    G. In connection with your personal data collected, processed and maintained by Unicars, you have the right to their portability, to submit a written request for access and correction, to restrict or oppose their processing and to delete them. You can revoke your expressed consent at any time by submitting a written request to the Unicars Data Protection Officer at 144 Yiannou Kranidioti Avenue, 2235 Latsia or at dpo@unicars.com. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commissioner.



  1. Technical Data

    We may collect technical data, such as the web browser you are using or the operating system that you have installed on your computer. Such information does not reveal your identity and is simply used to record traffic to the website.


    We can also place a "cookie" file on your computer's hard drive. This will allow us to identify you as a user when you re-visit the website, allowing us to customize the content to your liking. The specified fuel consumption and emission data have been determind according to the measurement procedures prescribed by law. Since 1st September 2017, certain new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Starting on September 1st 2018, the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) will be replaced by the WLTP in stages. Owing to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions measured according to the WLTP will, in many cases, be higher than those measured according to the NEDC. Therefore, the usage of CO2 emission values measured according to WLTP for vehicle taxation from 1st September 2018 on can cause changes in this regard as well. We are currently still required by law to state the NEDC figures. In the case of new vehicles which have been type-approved according to the WLTP, the NEDC figures are derived from the WLTP data. It is possible to specify the WLTP figures voluntarily in addition until such times as this is required by law. In cases where the NEDC figures are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering. They are intended exclusively as a means of comparison between different vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories (e.g. add-on parts, different tyre formats, etc.) may change the relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, and, in conjunction with weather and traffic conditions and individual driving style, may affect fuel consumption, electrical power consumption, CO2 emissions and the performance figures for the vehicle.
