The engine of the Audi S3Perfect interplay of forces

The 2.0 TFSI® power unit will win you over with its power and resilience. This 4-cylinder turbo engine delivers an impressive power output of 195 kW - and yet needs very few refuelling stops. This has been made possible by a technology that Audi first used in motorsport with sensational success: FSI® petrol direct injection. Tested in Le Mans, proven on the road.

More power: a charge air cooler reduces the temperature of the air supplied to the engine. This increases the power output of the 2.0 TFSI power unit. The turbo-charger ultimately transforms the engine into a top-class athlete. The engine keeps its maximum torque of 350 Nm constant in the 2,500 to 5,000 rpm range. The result of this broad turbocharger plateau and the extremely spontaneous response is a breathtaking acceleration performance that takes the S3 from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
